Skoda Motorsport are planning to launch the latest version Fabia R5 at their motorsport press conference today (November 27). Skoda has concentrated development testing in recent months, with the major difference being that the car will be built around a new chassis platform (the same as used on the VW Polo GTI R5). This will require a completely new homologation. Unknown at this time are the proposed homologation date and the schedule for delivery to customers, expected some time in mid 2019. Meanwhile, news is also anxiously awaited about M-Sport's proposed updated version of the Fiesta R5. Plans for official Skoda Motorsport competition in 2019, including possible participation in WRC2 Pro and their driver line-up, is also expected to be announced.
