Driver Brett Middleton and Co-Driver Andrew Benefield will be out challenging at the front in the Quit Forest Rally taking place near Perth, Western Australia this weekend.

The MRT Performance Subaru scored maximum points in the opening round of the ECB Australian SUV Rally Championship at Rally Calder four weeks ago.

The Quit Forest Rally will give Middleton and Benefield an ideal opportunity to extend their championship lead.

“The Subaru Forester has been in Perth for two weeks prior the event and the guys at Maximum Motorsports have helped with the prep for the event,” Middleton said.

“The car is at its best in second and third gear and it can be quite quick out of corners and from a standing start.  The stages in Perth will a little bit twisty and will be good for our car.”

“I am quite looking forward to the rally.  With a good flowing road, the car will be good – really good.” Middleton added.

The turbo diesel Subaru offers a lot of torque which should see it punching above its weight.  The team has also been continuing improving the car, as they prepare for its second event.

“We have tested a lot along the way – and been able to improve the car from Rally Calder.  The car will continue to go better and better the more we do with it,” Brett said.

The Quit Forest Rally will be held over two competitive days and will feature the Bosch Australian Rally Championship cars, the Bosch Side x Side Challenge, the ECB SUV rally Challenge and WA Rally Championship.

Twenty special stages will greet the competitors as they battle over 215 competitive kilometres.

The roads will be made up of gravel and clay except for the spectator super specials which will feature bitumen and gravel.

MRT are the first in the world to rally a Subaru Forester Turbo Diesel, this car has a 2 litre 4 cylinder engine with 6 speed transmission.

Using constant 4WD and Subaru all wheel drive the car has incredible grip and handling.

The car runs MCA shocks and Whiteline suspension, with an EcuTeK custom tuned factory ECU, giving an additional 70Nm of Torque.

MRT Performance are a Subaru, Mazda and Mitsubishi specialist based in the Sydney suburb of Rhodes. Employing over 15 staff the company is well known around the world for innovation and market leading design of aftermarket parts.
