2011 Canberra Rally Experience
- 9th February 2011, 2:59pm
The Brindabella Motor Sport Club, the Light Car Club of Canberra and the Shoalhaven and Kiama Districts Auto Club are joining forces to once again hold a ride day to raise money for the Snowy Hydro Southcare Rescue Helicopter Service.
The event is an effort to promote the sport of rallying to the public, whilst raising much needed funds for the region’s local Aero-Medical Rescue Helicopter.
Based out of the Stromlo Forest park the day gives the general public a chance to experience the thrill of being strapped into a purpose built rally car and go flying through the forest with some of the East Coast’s best rally drivers.
“It’s great to once again join forces with the local car clubs and is a great way to launch the Snowy Hydro South Care awareness week,” CEO Steven Gregory said.
Four time Australian Rally Champion Neal Bates is bringing his Toyota Corolla S2000 out for rides, as well as Brendan Reeves, who will be driving in this year’s World Rally Championship.
The day gets under way from 9:30am with plenty of food drink and other activities available. For more information, including a map of how to get there, go to www.bmsc.com.au.
