Accommodation scandal hits Rally Chile

Just days before the organisers of Copec Rally Chile at Concepcion start to welcome teams, media and fans to their event, comes news of a scandal.

One source asks: “Can you explain to me why the price of the Atton Hotel is US$60 for a standard room the week before and after the rally, and during the rally week it’s US$250?”.

Another reports: “Hotels are cancelling reservations made through Booking.com before the official announcement of the event in order to ask 2,3,4 times more money …”

This problem is not new, but here it is extreme. It was one of the sources of discontent when the WRC first went to Ireland.
