The Australian Rally Commission (ARCom) have acknowledged the tremendous work of rally organisers Neil Cuthbert and Justin Hunt in running the NGK Rally of Melbourne over the past four years.

Neil and Justin's partnership was formed in very trying circumstances following Glenn Cuthbert's tragic death just days before the 2002 Rally of Melbourne event, an official ARCom press release stated.

The pair has since built the NGK Rally of Melbourne into a commercial success and made it one of the NEC Australian Rally Championship's marque events.

"While we are saddened by their decision to step down as promoters of the event, we will work together to find a new promoter to allow this fantastic event to continue in the future," said Arcom Chairman Garry Connelly.

"We would also like to acknowledge the hard work by the event's superb sporting team, and we hope that all involved will continue on with the Melbourne event."
