Chris Atkinson looks set to remain with the Subaru World Rally Team for the 2007 World Rally Championsihp season, if reports in Britain's Motorsport News are anything to go by.
In a recent issue, MN said: "Chris Atkinson's future at Subaru looks secure after team chief Richard Taylor confirmed the squad weren't tlaking to any other driver about partnering Petter Solberg next season. Atkinson is in his second year with Subaru and will switch to an '05 Impreza for Rally Germany."
Atkinson's engineer, Richard Thompson, has also thrown his support behind the young Queenslander.
"It takes time to become a champion, but when everything clicks into place he'll be unstoppable."
Atkinson has so far had a dismal 2006 WRC season and has been unable to repeat his successes of 2005. Last year he finished third in the Rally of Japan, and led Rally Australia until a steering problem slowed his progress.
