Following a successful expansion to two days in 2014, Scouts Rally SA will return to the Gawler Showgrounds for an even bigger and better event this October with a new stage, cheaper tickets and expanded spectating opportunities.
The new, improved Gawler Showgrounds Super Special Stage takes advantage of the better weather conditions of October, run in reverse direction with jumps and water splashes to delight spectators. The new stage affords better viewing opportunities for spectators, and a new challenge for competitors.
Saturday 24 October will see the final three stages of the day’s competition run around the Gawler Showgrounds under twilight, with daylight savings providing a brighter, warmer environment for families and rally enthusiasts.
Sunday 25 October will see the final two stages of the 2015 East Coast Bullbars Australian Rally Championship run at Gawler, before the 2015 champions are crowned.
During both days, spectators will get access to competition cars in a way they only can at a rally – up close and personal. Rallying is famous for being more accessible than other forms of motorsport and this will be on full display at Gawler Showgrounds this October.
Spectators will get to see thrilling rally action from a huge variety of cars including outright East Coast Bullbars Australian Rally Championship, Australian 4WD Rally Series, Classic Rally Challenge, Australian Side by Side Rally Challenge, and South Australian Rally Championship cars.
There will be a range of great activities for all the family, with the Scouts SA climbing wall, face painting, car displays, and local community groups providing food and activities.
Corporate facilities will also be available in the newly built Gawler Greyhound Racing Club facility, providing panoramic views across the rally stage within a glass enclosed viewing platform.
The Town of Gawler is getting right behind the event, with local council and community group representatives working with Scouts Rally SA on planning for the event.
Town of Gawler Mayor, Karen Redman, is excited to have Scouts Rally SA return to Gawler Showgrounds. “As Mayor of this beautiful town, I am very proud that Scouts Rally SA has chosen to utilise Gawler as the venue for the final found of the 2015 East Coast Bullbars Australian Rally Championship.”
Ivar Stanelis, Clerk of Course of Scouts Rally SA is equally enthused. “We have seen excitement and crowd numbers grow in the two years we have run at Gawler Showgrounds, and we’re excited with the plans the community are hatching for this year’s event.
This year’s Scouts Rally SA will be the final round of the 2015 East Coast Bullbars Australian Rally Championship, run on Friday 23 October, Saturday 24 October and Sunday 25 October.
The Gawler Showgrounds Super Special Stage will be run from 3pm on Saturday 24 October and from noon on Sunday 25 October.
