One of Australia’s original works Datsun Stanzas has been offered for sale in the UK.
The Group 2 Datsun Stanza that George Fury took to victory in the 1979 Southern Cross Rally spent most of its life in Australia, but was sold to the UK in the mid-1990s.
It is being sold with a number of spare parts, including a spare engine and gearbox, for the sum of £12,000.
Fury drove the car to victory in the famous Southern Cross Rally against the might of the factory Ford Escort RS1800s of Bjorn Waldegard and Greg Carr.
It’s a piece of rallying history that will hopefully find its way back home, down under.
