After yesterday’s recce in Rebecca’s trusty 3-cylinder, 1-litre Daihatsu Charade, they are pumped to drive the roads in the somewhat more powerful 4-cylinder, 2-litre turbocharged Toyota Corolla Sportivo Group N(P) Rally Car.
“The roads seem to be pretty tricky and will probably get a bit chopped up after a few runs through. I think you will do well here if you get to the finish!” Ryan commented after today’s recce.
“We put in a lot of hard work after the Forest Rally, the kangaroo that we hit did a fair bit of damage to the front end. I’m just itching to get out there this weekend and hopefully get on the podium this time!”
Ryan and Rebecca were honoured to have Neal Bates at testing on Wednesday afternoon. Neal has been an integral part of Ryan’s preparation for the event and helped Ryan choose the Kumho tyre compound and set up the car for the highly technical Coffs Coast Rally roads.
