The Ballarat Light Car Club have been forced to cancel their round of the 2007 Victorian Club Rally Series because a Clerk of Course could not be found.
The Begonia Rally was to have run on September 22, but the BLCC have been left with no option other than to cancel the rally.
“After exhaustive searching no director for this event could be found. There we lots of offers of qualified assistants to enable someone unqualified to be mentored in the directors’ role, but still no one was willing to put their hand up,” a club spokesman said.
The club intend to run the rally in 2008, if a director can be found.
The Begonia has a long history on the Victorian rally calendar, and the event’s cancellation is a blow to the sport in Victoria.
