Some of the biggest names in Australian rallying are preparing for their first hitout of the year in Canberra next week at the official ARC test day. In an event which doubles as the launch for the National Capital Rally, crews will get the chance to test their machinery on the Canberran roads. Reigning Australian Rally Champion, Harry Bates will be the biggest name in attendance in his Toyota Yaris AP4, whilst his teammate, Lewis Bates, will also be there. Popular New South Welshman, Nathan Quinn, will test in what shapes to be a critical test for his 2020 plans. As previously reported by RallySport Magazine, Quinn will test the Peugeot 208 AP4 of Innate Motorsport and Richie Dalton's Ford Fiesta.

Other drivers set for the test day are Richie Dalton, Luke Anear, Troy and Justin Dowel, Mick Patton, JJ Hatton, John O'Dowd, Taylor Gill, Chris Higgs, Jason Lennane, Stephen Mee and Brian O'Neill “We have a really good turnout for this pre-season shakedown and it just goes to show a lot of people are getting excited for both the Netier National Capital Rally and the ARC season as a whole,” Motorsport Australia's Michael Smith said. “Hopefully the launch event inspires the competitors who are still undecided to confirm their place in the season opener. It should be a great day and we are all really looking forward to seeing how this diverse group of competitors start off their respective Championship charges.” The launch of the National Capital Rally will take place on Tuesday evening before the test day runs on the Wednesday.
