Bunbury based rally team, LRT, are back to contest the 2015 Quit Forest Rally which will be held in Busselton and Nannup from 27 – 29 March.

Made up of three crews, LRT will be taking on the best rally teams from Western Australia contesting the 2WD and Clubman Cup classes of the event.

Leading the charge with their entry in the West Australian Rally Championship (WARC) 2WD class is a new pairing of former Clubman Cup champion Mark Travers (pictured) with experienced co-driver Tony Floyd calling the notes.

A gentle rollover at the WARC round in Boddington last season was the trigger for Mark to refresh his Sprinter and chase some extra performance from its 1600cc motor as he stock motor used in the 2013/14 season was becoming a real source of frustration.

“I really wanted to be able to chase our big horsepower competition and we have already had some positive results from recent testing so we are really excited for the season ahead,” Mark said.

The family nature of LRT is again shown by the son and parent combinations of Jason and Paul Lowther in their highly tuned AE82 Corolla, and Mat and Jenny Gerdei in Mat’s historic Weber fed, Datsun 180B.

Jason and Mat will contest the highly competitive Clubman Cup category at the Quit Forest Rally and following improvements to both cars during the off season, both crews are aiming to start their seasons with a maximum haul of points.

All three crews are extremely grateful for the time, effort and facilities provided by Simon from LRT Custom Engineering and Waterjet Cutting and cant wait for the flag to drop in Busselton on the 27 March.
