Former World Rally Champion, Petter Solberg, has confirmed he will drive a Citroen C4 in the final two rounds of the 2009 World Rally Championship.  The car Solberg will drive is a 2008 spec C4 with adjustments that make it close to the 2009 spec that Sebastien Loeb and Dani Sordo are driving this year.

Solberg tested both the C4 and the Ford Focus WRCar recently and after lengthy talks with both team bosses decided on the Citroen for the remaining two rounds in Spain and Great Britain.

"I have tested the C4 and I’m quite certain that this is the best car for me. Citroën gave me a good offer, and I do believe that driving this car gives me a proper chance to fight for podium," Solberg said on his website.

"I got good offers from Citroën and Ford, but after evaluation I decided to go for Citroën and the C4 for the next two events. This will also give me valuable information regarding my plans for next year."

Solberg says that no decision has been made as yet on which car he will drive in the 2010 WRC, but regardless of the make, he will run under his own "Petter Solberg World Rally Team" banner.
