Former Toyota Team Europe and Mitsubishi Ralliar Europe team manager, George Donaldson, made a surprise visit to the Mt Buller Sprint last weekend.
Donaldson, who is now the Group N Project General Manager for Subaru Technica International (STI), attended the event with Subaru Australia’s Greg Foletta.
The UK-based Donaldson had been in Perth for Rally Australia and was in transit to Rally New Zealand when he made the stop-off at Mt Buller.
“The timing worked out well so I thought it would be a good idea to show him first hand some of the Subaru Motorsport activities we are now pursuing,” Foletta told RallySport Magazine today.
Subaru Australia are currently providing Impreza WRX STI Spec C vehicles for customers to purchase in various levels of specification, although Foletta stresses that there is a limited stock of these cars.
This year their rallying focus has changed dramatically. After 10 years at the top of the Australian Rally Championship, Subaru have contested a limited number of tarmac rallies in 2007, mainly with Dean Herridge at the wheel of a factory Impreza.
