It is pleasing to note that CAMS have finally found a successor to Rob Nethercote for the position of CAMS Chief Executive Officer, after a long and apparently wide-reaching search.
In appointing Graham Fountain to the position, CAMS’ statement on his appointment highlights Fountain’s long involvement with the Victorian Country Fire Authority and his close association with the thousands of volunteers who make up the CFA. RallySport Magazine has no doubts that Fountain’s appointment will inject some much-needed new drive and enthusiasm into the organization.
Not only will the new appointee be well versed in putting out spot fires, he will also have an affinity for CAMS’ own battalion of volunteers who are subject to  the ever-increasing demands that are being put on them by a host of new regulations and requirements.
We hope that Graham Fountain has a background in motorsport as well, for surely this must be one of the pre-requesites of anyone appointed to one of the highest position in the management of Australian motorsport.
