The highly successful Whiteline Tarmac Rallysprint Series is on again this summer and entries have opened. Held at Sydney International Dragway, the 3km rallysprint is run on a weekday evening, the five events begin in October and finish in March . Crews get five to six runs of the 3km special stage, starting at 6pm. Last years series set event entry records with 90 car full fields at all five events. “This year we have some great new ideas including a huge discount for juniors of 14 -  18 years old,” said event Clerk Of the Course Brett Middleton. “We want to grow rallying and the WTRS allows some of the cheapest form of rallying in Australia right in the heart of Sydney,” he added. OHM media, lead by John McCredie, is again contracted to the series with a video budget in excess of $20,000 and this is 100% invested in a new video every week whilst the series is on. “Our focus, pardon the pun, is on teams and crews, not sponsors, so drivers can show friends, family and sponsors what they do,” John said. “We have three separate camera points each event so most teams get included at every event,” he added. The series is run as an S1 closed to club rallysprint, so cars don’t need a roll cage and no road rego, and drivers don’t even need a civil licence and can drive as young as 14 years. Almost any car can enter as long as it’s safe.
