The organisers of the Brakes Direct Border Ranges Rally, the Gold Coast Tweed Motorsporting Club Inc. have released their supplementary regulations for the Brakes Direct Border Ranges Rally. (See www.borderrangesrally.com.au)
Clerk of the Course Stephen Davies said: “We have attempted to offer a rally that is ‘not the norm’ but hopefully cater for a multitude of differing competitor’s wants and desires. The supplementary regulations will require a careful read as they are structured to allow a ranges of events within the overarching main event, the Brakes Direct Border Ranges Rally.”
Davies further commented, “Whatever category of the event you enter you will be competing over world class shire road stages.”
Davies thanked the events sponsors and partners and especially the Kyogle Council, the NSW Police, and the residents in the region for their valued support and enthusiasm.
Run over three days, the BDBRR encompasses a round of the MTA NSWRC, the P3 Solutions CAMS QRC, the ECCRS, the Qld Clubman and Novice Series as well as an Allcomers event.
The event starts on Friday the 13th July with a Media Day, reconnaissance, and a Ceremonial Start in Kyogle, the rally’s base. Saturday’s four stages completed at 1 minute intervals three times for a total of 103 km is Leg 1 of the BDBRR, the NSWRC, the QRC and the ECCRS. A blast around the local showground will complete Saturday’s events.
Sunday’s three stages are longer, completed twice at two minute intervals totalling 66 km, and forms Leg 2 of the BDBRR, the Qld Clubman and Novice Series round, and an Allcomers event.
As Davies says, “We are catering for just about anyone on the Easter Seaboard with a rally car who wants to have a run over some fantastic rally roads.”
