Sydney to London Marathon Rally organisers have announced they are extending the deadline for entries for the John Giddings Memorial Trophy, a marathon rally which will run alongside the Sydney to London Marathon Rally from Sydney to Perth.
The John Giddings Memorial Trophy will also fittingly be sponsored by Car Auctions Pacific, a Queensland based car auction and used car business run by John's son Michael.
In an effort to help competitors, organisers have also announced that entries can now be paid in installments, and there are significant discounts for competitors entering 3 cars. This represents a huge opportunity for enthusiastic competitors to enter in groups for substantial discounts on their entry fees.
The field to date is an exciting mix of classic rally cars, including famous Datsuns, Alfa Romeos and even a Mercedes Benz.
Keith Morling, Australian coordinator of the Sydney to London Marathon Rally, said "we are ecstatic to have a sponsor like Car Auctions Pacific on board for this event, and it's great that the Giddings family have been able to support the event. We hope that by extending the deadline for entries we can give those competitors who have been busy preparing for the event the extra time they need to put their entries in.
The Sydney to London Marathon Rally was last held in 2004, and has never before been held with Sydney as the starting point, with previous events starting in London before finishing in Sydney.
The Sydney to London Marathon Rally and John Giddings Memorial Trophy will leave Sydney on April 12.
