Volkswagen driver Enzo Kuun kept his chances of winning the South African Rally Championship alive with second place in the Western Cape Rally.
The defending champion is second nine points behind the championship leader before the finale at the end of October. 25 championship points are still to be awarded at the Polokwane Rally.
The 2009 Dakar Rally winner, Giniel de Villiers, retired after an accident from the seventh of eight season rallies.
