The "classic" pairing of Stuart Bowes and Jeremy Browne will contest the MSS Safety Gorge Rallysprint in September, in an ex-works TTE Celica. The Adelaide based crew will be pulling on their helmets in Bowes' ex-Freddy Loix Celica. "It's Jeremy's fault I ever got involved in rallying back in the 1970s and it's been an addiction ever since," Bowes says. The experienced team last competed together at the 2017 Adelaide Rally, Stuart choosing to concentrate his efforts on work commitments and chasing well-earned victory at the 2019 AGL Rally of the Heartland on gravel in his immaculate 450SLC Mercedes.

Jeremy, on the other hand, has not sat around idle, competing in rallies all over the country and indulging in his other passion, chasing steam trains around the world. "I'm extremely fortunate to have a few fabulous cars I can pull out of the garage for a spin and thanks to Garry Kirk, they're all in perfect working order," Bowes added. "The Celica has recently had some scheduled maintenance so it's about time to blow out the cobwebs again. People love seeing these ex-works cars out and about. "Those of us who are lucky enough to own them probably have an obligation to bring them out into the fresh air from time to time, rather than leaving them hidden away. "We're using this event as a shakedown for the longer Adelaide Rally in November, where we're planning on teaming up again with Neal Bates and Coral Taylor in their championship winning Celica GT-Four, along with Darryl Bush and Mark Nelson in their fabulous Corolla WRC." Browne has been a regular driver and co-driver in rallies around the globe for decades and knows the Adelaide Hills area particularly well, having been a former Clerk of the Course for the Classic Adelaide Rally. "His attention to detail and thorough preparation with pacenotes makes it a pleasure to have him on board. I've learnt a lot having him alongside, not to mention he's a 'good old bloke' to take out for a Sunday drive!" Bowes added. Come out and see the Celica pop, crackle and bang its way through "The Gorge" this September.
