Rounds Two and Three of the BrakesDirect.com.au Queensland Excel Rally Series is due to get underway in a matter of days at the International Rally of Queensland on 26-27 May.
This will be the first chance for many South East Queensland competitors to get out in the forest after Round 1 was postponed due to heavy rain.
With series sponsors BrakesDirect.com.au and Performance Patios and Decks committing a massive $3000 to the end of series prize pool there is sure to be plenty of hotly contended action out in the forests around the township of Imbil.
Last year’s rounds two and three winner Andrew Dillon will be sitting out of the event due to work commitments and believes that this year’s event will prove to be a test of not only speed but reliability. “With the extremely heavy rain that Queensland experienced earlier in the year sure to have an effect on road conditions”.
Local driver Matt Bailey will be going into the event as the clear favourite. After ending the 2011 series with a fantastic win at the “Good Night Rally” demonstrating great speed and car control.
