In 2014 the Quit Forest Rally Busselton Super Special Stage will be given a serious shake up following major redevelopment to its location, Barnard Park and the Busselton foreshore.

The Quit Forest Rally, Western Australia’s round of the ECB Australian Rally Championship, attracts a mix of national, state and local competitors of all experience levels, ages and abilities and the opportunity for these competitors to compete along the Busselton foreshore in front of thousands of spectators is always a highlight of the event.

First run in 2001 the Super Special Stage provides local residents with two adrenalin packed evenings in the heart of the town and the new course – which includes a section where the drivers will compete along Marine Terrace – will provide further thrills for spectators and competitors, with drivers and their navigators responding to the challenge of a new course.

“Every year the Quit Forest Rally team strive to incorporate more original and imaginative locations and stages across the event to provide further thrills for drivers, teams, spectators and the media alike,” said Quit Forest Rally Event Director and Clerk of Course Ross Tapper.

“The works to Barnard Park have provided us with an opportunity to offer a refreshed and exciting Super Special Stage in Busselton which has not been possible in the past,” he continued.

Quit Forest Rally organisers are in discussion with a new sponsor for the Super Special Stage after their long standing partnership with Busselton Toyota came to an end at the completion of the 2013 event.

“Busselton Toyota became the naming rights sponsor of the Super Special Stage in 2002 and continued to support the event after Toyota Australia’s departure from the sport in 2009,” Tapper said.

“The Busselton Super Special Stage is recognised around Australia for setting the benchmark for profiling competitors, sponsors and the sports of rallying and off-road racing, and the support of Laurie Saltarini and Busselton Toyota has been vital to our ability to achieve this.”

“Busselton Toyota has enabled the Quit Forest Rally to bring the Australian Rally Championship to the people of Busselton and the region and we are extremely grateful for their support over the past 12 years.”

“As business we have been extremely proud as sponsor to have played our part in the development of the Busselton Super Special Stage, bringing the Quit Forest Rally and Australian Rally Championship to the people of Busselton,” Laurie Saltarini said.

The Quit Forest Rally will run on 4-6 April, 2014. The Busselton Super Special Stage will be held on the evenings of Friday and Saturday with the forest stages being held in the pine plantations around Nannup during the day on Saturday and Sunday.
