Victoria's Alpine Rally is in full swing, with nearly 100 classic cars starting the event in East Gippsland on Friday afternoon.
After day two, Alan Friend and Michelle Canning hold a 45 second lead in their Nissan Silvia, surprising many with their pace.
Heading into the final two stages of the day, it was the Ford Escort RS1800 of Mike Conway and Jenny Cole who held the lead, however, Conway had a plug lead come off on both stages, dropping three minutes, and is now down in fourth place.
Jeff David's Porsche is second, ahead of fellow NSW driver David King in a Datsun 200B.
Scotsman, and former WRC star, Alister McRae, had a big off-road excursion on Saturday afternoon, doing substantial damage to his newly build Escort. He is still fourth, but nearly three minutes from the lead.
