Full-On Rallysport have entered both of their Mitsubishi Evo 6’s in the Allied Air Conditioning/Daiken Coffs Coast Rally of 2008, to be held this weekend.
Bruce Fullerton and Hugh Reardon-Smith are returning to the Australian Rally Championship after competing in the recent Repco Rally of New Zealand. The team encountered a number of minor problems on Legs 1 and 2 in the Hamilton based event which cost some time, but it was an unfortunate roll near to the finish of Saturday’s final stage that brought their event to a halt. However, their last run in the ARC saw them finish fifth for the weekend at the Rally of Canberra, and the Fullerton Financial Services team are looking to bounce back with a strong result.
“We competed at the last Coffs Harbour ARC event in 1999,” said Bruce, “and we thoroughly enjoyed the roads around the area, so we are really looking forward to this event.”
Fullerton and Reardon-Smith will be running on Pirelli tyres again after such a good result in the ACT.
“The Pirelli tyres stood up to the abrasion of Canberra really well,” said Bruce, “and with softer conditions around Coffs, we’re looking for another good run”.
The second Fullerton Financial Services Evo 6 of 2008 Queensland champions, Ryan and Rebecca Smart, will be starting the rally in a buoyant mood, having won the Philcomm Jimna rally last weekend, wrapping up the 2008 Queensland title at the same time. In their first season in a 4WD car, the Smart’s are thrilled to have won the Queensland Championship. They won the rain affected Philcomm Jimna Rally by over two minutes to wrap up the title in their Fullerton Financial Services Evo 6.
Both of the Full-On Rallysport Evo 6’s have been very competitive all season, and with support from Fullerton Financial Services, Alliance Airlines and Yandina Automotive, the teams are aiming to finish the season on a high note.
