For the past 25 years, the annual Great Endeavour Rally has covered the length and breadth of Australia, going boldly where most fear to bring their 2WD, or 4WD! It’s not your average outback holiday, that’s for sure.
If you like your adventure holidays a little on the wild side, then the Great Endeavour Rally is geared towards you. This famous charity motoring event raises funds and awareness for disability service provider Endeavour Foundation – and it’s about to hit the big smoke, Sydney NSW.
Endeavour Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation supporting 3,350 people with a disability to have the choices of an ordinary life. Founded in Queensland in 1951, it has expanded into New South Wales, where it now provides services to more than 500 people with a disability.
To help spread the word about Endeavour Foundation in New South Wales and raise funds for people with a disability, the legendary Great Endeavour Rally is revving up for its inaugural New South Wales trip. Kicking off in Penrith on Saturday, 19 October, 2013, the New South Wales Great Endeavour Rally will spend seven days travelling to Bathurst via Cameron Corner in the far west of the state, finishing up on Saturday, October 26.
The Great Endeavour Rally is not a speed event or a race – but what it lacks in pace, it makes up for in challenge and adventure. It takes the road less travelled, or in most cases, the track most seldom used, to reach its next destination. Spirited mateship, generosity and a desire to see the heart and soul of the Australian bush are the only pre-requisites to jump aboard the Great Endeavour adventure train.
Any make or age of vehicle is eligible and entry fee into the event is just $2,800, making it the most affordable motoring event in Australia.
