Queensland rallying welcomes Hankook Tyres to the Queensland Rally Championship for 2013 as the new sponsor for the premium Unrestricted Class of rally cars. 2013 will be the first year that these vehicles have been permitted to run in a state championship series in Australia as previously seen in the Australian Rally Championship.

The Unrestricted Class is for the all-wheel drive turbo vehicles that are not running the air flow restrictor on their turbo systems and due to the power these vehicles produce, the organisers went on the hunt for a tyre that would provide a premium level of grip and the ability to withstand the tough and demanding punishment that lay before them in the Qld Rally Championship stages.Â

After testing it was found Hankook tyres supplied the best all-round performance and stood alone as the most attractively priced when compared to the competition. When Hankook were approached by organisers to talk about a tyre supply deal, they were excited to participate in the series and have given an amazing amount of support in getting organised for this years championship and offered a substantial amount of prize money towards this years Unrestricted winners.

Mr Alan Stean from Z-car Racing is the QLD distributor of Hankook’s premium motorsport range of tyres.  Alan has told organisers that Hankook is determined to support entry level motorsport so, as part of the deal that Hankook has made with the organisers, Hankook will also supply tyres at discounted rates to any competitors in the Queensland Rally Championship, no matter what class they are competing in.
