Harry Bates fastest in Eureka Rally shakedown
- 17th March 2017, 2:49am
Harry Bates was fastest in this morning’s shakedown for the Eureka Rally, the opening round of the 2017 Australian Rally Championship.
Information is thin on the ground coming out of Ballarat, and the ARC media (so far) has been non-existent, however, it is believed Bates was fastest in his S2000 Corolla, ahead of Marcus Walkem’s Mitsubishi.
Eli Evans’ brand new AP4 Mini Cooper didn’t make it to the pre-event shakedown, while Arron Windus’ rented Peugeot 208 Maxi was also not in attendance, having not arrived from Western Australia at the time of the shakedown.
The rally starts in Ballarat with a publicity start tonight, before the forest stages on Saturday and Sunday.
