The first round of the Australian Rally Championship was not as kind to the Hilary’s Hotel Rally team as they would have liked, posting a solid 4th outright on Saturday’s heat one, the team was sidelined with engine issues on the first stage during Heat 2.

The team got the car back to its Melbourne workshop and took the engine apart, stripped it down and found the issue to be a faulty inlet valve. The engine now fully rebuilt and the car back together, the team looks ahead to this weekend’s rally with great promise.

“The team has put in some great efforts over the last few weeks to get the car back into tip top shape, with the engine issues from Canberra resolved plus a few upgrades and minor tweaks we cannot be more confident heading into the rally,” driver Will Orders said.

The team has just arrived in Perth following the three-day trek across Australia and the famous Nullarbor road stretch.

The team also welcome back Will’s regular co-driver, Toni Feaver, who will join the team for the rest of the season.

Round two of the Australian Rally Championship starts this Friday night with the power stage starting at 9:30am local time.

The team would like to thank other sponsors: Freak Motorsport Fabrications, Pedders Suspension, Hollinger Engineering, JJM Turboworld, Penrite Oils and Rallyschool.com.au
