Colin Hunter and his team are looking forward to another successful year in 2007 after achieving all their goals in 2006.

Hunter finished third outright in the driver’s title and first in class (P6) after tackling the Queensland Rally Championship for the first time, as well as winning the Class Eight title for the third year in a row in the Australian Offroad Racing Championship.

“I can only describe the year as fantastic,” says Hunter, who campaigned a Jeep Grand Cherokee in the national offroad races and a Jeep Wrangler in the state rally series.

“The results we have achieved are a tribute to the team’s hard work and we are all looking forward to matching or bettering those results this year.”

The Brisbane-based team will contest this year’s Australian Offroad Championship series in last year’s title winning Grand Cherokee, the first event being at Hyden, WA, over the Easter weekend.

They are also at work on a new Cherokee for the 2008 offroad series and are looking to compete in the Australian Safari in WA in August, and the famous Mexican desert race, the Baja 1000, in November.

“Obviously our budget won’t allow us to do everything, but all those events are on our radar and under discussion. We will have to finalise our plans fairly soon in order to get the vehicles ready in time,” Hunter says.

Hunter Racing are supported by Goodyear, Modena Engineering and Chrysler Jeep.
