As the fires continue in intensity in New South Wales, Rally Australia organisers are fighting to retrieve their event through drastic route shortening. This means the WRC regulations come into operation. Established rules dictate how championship points are to be issued, with one-third points awarded if only 25-50% of the competitive is run, and no points if less than 25%.
