Messages On Hold boss, Kym Illman, surprised many (including himself) with an 11th place finish in the modern competition section of Targa West last weekend. In just his fourth event at full speed, he was spurred on by navigator Antonia Spiers in only her third event.
Driving a 2006 Mitsubishi EVO 9, Illman and Spiers proved consistent over the weekend, outperforming some highly credentialled teams. Apart from an impressive spin at prologue (see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oi8qm4gSxms) the pair had a trouble-free run. Illman's prologue video is worth viewing - it features no less than 10 different camera angles and was viewable on Youtube within hours of the stage being run.
