The 19th Kidney Health Australia Kar Rally, held last month, raised $501,000 and promoted the message on chronic kidney disease through outback Australia, regional Queensland and New South Wales over the ten days.

Seventy colourful vehicles and drivers were flagged off at 7.30am on August 15 from the Free Spirit Resort, Berrimah (on the outskirts of Darwin), to commence their 6000 kilometre journey which ended in Dubbo (NSW) on August 24.

Over the past nineteen years the rally has raised in excess of $1.7 million.

The event not only raised urgently needed funds, but also spread the word on kidney health and the steps to prevent the disease which threatens one in every three Australians.

A big thank you to Arthur and Kim Davis of Bathurst, the Road Directors of the Kidney Health Australia Rally for the past eight years, and the many support staff, organisations and families who supported the teams both on the road and fundraising.
