Last weekend the Northern Districts Sporting Car Club held round two of the 2012 Albion Motorsport Sprintmaster at the Hirstglen Motorsport Complex.

60km of competitive distance at Hirstglen once again proved a great challenge for the 28 crews who started the event. Only 18 crew finished.

On completion of the day and night competition Jeff Kilbride and Margot Knowles in their 1600cc Corolla proved to be the crew to beat, taking all but one stage win to claim the event and Class 1 victory.

Class 2 victory once again went to the well driven Datsun 1600 of the Weddings, with the Dillon/Doyle Hyundai Lantra finishing second.  Second outright and victory in Class 3 was taken out by the husband and wife team of Jamie and Michelle Lawson in a Commodore Ute.

Third outright honours and first in Class 4 went to the Erwin, Parkinson Evo 3. After a tussle of gigantic proportions the Ladies Class was won by Melinda Bergmann and Peta Davies, with Kylie Evans and Tiffany Baker-Schaffer having to settle for second place.

A thrilling battle is shaping up for the remaining two Sprintmaster rounds with only six points separating the top three drivers outright contention.

The Northern Districts Sporting Car Club would like to thank Albion Motorsport, the Hirstglen Motorsport Complex, AASA and all the competitors and officials for their continued support. For more information on events visit www.ndscc.asn.au.
