World Rally Championship star, Jari-Matti Latvala, contested the 2014 Rallylegend event on the weekend, in his Volkswagen Polo R WRC.

The winner of the most recent WRC round in France delighted tens of thousands of motorsport fans with his spectacular driving on the track at the rally festival in San Marino (SM).

"A fantastic three-day-long show in front of wonderful fans, Rallylegend isn't called 'Woodstock on wheels' for nothing,” Latvala said after the event, at which the audience had the pleasure of seeing an unparalleled array of stars and vehicles.

Among others, they had the honour of seeing former world champion Stig Blomqvist (S), Juha Kankkunen (FIN), Didier Auriol (F) and Markku Alén (FIN).

The spectrum of over 150 rally cars ranged from the 60s era to current WRC vehicles. Furthermore, Peter Thul (D) "Head of Communication, Products and the Volkswagen AG Brand" was in the "Legend Stars" category as Michael Gerber's (D) passenger in the legendary Audi Sport Quattro S1 - one of the few originals at the event.

Whilst fans were able to examine the vehicles from the famous and notorious Group B class at close range, Latvala had to head off directly after the Rallylegend event to prepare for the next WRC race, which is taking place in Spain on October 23-25 .
