Ford Abu Dhabi World Rally Team will field two Fiesta RS World Rally Cars for Jari-Matti Latvala / Miikka Anttila and Ott Tänak / Kuldar Sikk in a test outing in Rallye du Var in southern France this weekend (25 - 27 November).

Both cars will test unspecified new components as part of the team’s scheduled development plan for the Fiesta RS WRC.

The all-asphalt French Rally Championship event is based around the picturesque coastal town of Saint-Maxime, close to Saint Tropez, on the Côte d'Azur.

“An entry for Rallye du Var has been scheduled as part of our test programme for some time.  Jari-Matti Latvala and Ott Tänak will each drive a Ford Fiesta RS WRC as part of the team’s continued development of the car on asphalt,” said Ford Abu Dhabi team director Malcolm Wilson.

Latvala’s Ford Fiesta RS WRC will run in its usual 2011 livery, whilst Tänak will drive a white test car liveried with Ford’s blue oval.

Latvala will arrive at the Rallye du Var fresh from winning Rally GB earlier this month.  Tänak, meanwhile, capped an outstanding debut in the car with a career-best sixth place in Wales, outpacing many more experienced rivals.

The rally will take place over 12 speed tests covering a total of 232.52km.  It begins at 13.00 on Friday, concluding at 11.35 on Sunday.
