Citroen's Sebastien Loeb has snatched the lead in Rally Japan after a day long battle with Marcus Gronholm.  The Ford driver started Leg 2 with a 12.5 second lead, but a spin on SS14 was all that Loeb needed to finish the day 25.6 seconds ahead.  The pair battled for all of the day's ten stages, sharing stage wins equally, whilst Gronholm's team-mate, Mikko Hirvonen, finished the day in a fine third place.

Chris Atkinson continues to be the best of the Subaru drivers, climbing from sixth to fourth today, whilst his team-mate Petter Solberg looks to have overcome his Leg 1 problems, and finished the day in seventh.  The two Subaru drivers are separated by Manfred Stohl (Peugeot) and Dani Sordo (Citroen).

Rally Japan concludes tomorrow with five forest stages and the Obihiro Super Special Stage.
