The Opti-Coat Rally Team will build a brand new 2013 Ford Fiesta ST for the 2014 ARC season, which will be built to the Australian G2 regulations.
This will be the second year running Opti-Coat will team up with Steve and the team underlying their commitment to Steve and Australian rallying. Joel Blake from Opti-Coat could not be happier with the program.
“Supporting Steve this year has been great, the commitment and professionalism from such a young guy blew me away, but the car he is in at the moment just won’t cut it, so I had to do something about that,” he said.
Having ran the old Fiesta XR4 the last two years this is being touted as a huge opportunity for the team. “
Firstly before we do anything I would like to extend my thanks towards Opti-Coat for coming back to join us for 2014, this is a massive boost and 100% the reason that were able to run next year in a current spec G2 rally car, which I believe will be more than competitive against the very best drivers and teams in Australia,” said Mackenzie said.
Steve and the team have already taken hold of a 2013 Ford Fiesta ST and are in the process of starting the build.
”It will be a big job to make Canberra for round 1 in 2014, but the new Fiesta ST is a solid starting platform and with help from the guys at Bendigo Tyre Centre and DMS I am confident we will have a competitive car for next year.”
Steve and the team would like to extend their thanks to other sponsors: Bendigo Tyre Centre, DMS Suspension, Northern Victorian Assessors, Exide Batteries, M&D Accident Repair, Chasers Motorworks and Perrows Automotive Paints.
