The opening round of the 2016 British Rally Championship, the Mid Wales Stages, was held at the weekend with mixed results for the Australian competitors.
Arron Windus, driving for the Vauxhall Junior Rally Team and co-driven by Rhianon Gelsomino, finished seventh in class and 24th overall, whilst Rhys Pinter/Mark Swallow and Guy Tyler/Steve Fisher both retired with mechanical issues.
Tyler’s Ford Fiesta R2 stopped on stage three, whilst Pinter’s similar car suffered a clutch failure on stage five.
