Monit Rally Computers launch GPS+ model

Monit revolutionised the rally and roading tripmeter market seven years ago when they partnered careful industrial design with modern electronic innovations to launch a tripmeter that was compact, lightweight, and extremely easy-to-use.
This same design ethos was employed during the development of the new G-Series GPS Monit tripmeter range to produce a product that enhances both your vehicle appearance and your chances of making it onto the podium.
“We supply top teams from around the world with our products, M-Sport, PH-Sport, Ralliart Italy, and Prodrive are but to name a few,” says Monit Director James Holder.
“They demand the highest standards in everything they do and we are pleased to be able to offer all competitors the same product that they use.”
The new G-Series use a high powered industrial GPS receiver coupled with an external antenna to provide market leading accuracy. To guarantee precision operation in all situations Monit developed the GPS+ system that can combine the signals from the GPS with a traditional wheel speed sensor, providing automatic backup in case of signal loss.
“We expect the new Monit GPS tripmeters will be popular with professional teams both during the rally and also on reconnaissance (recce),” Holder said.
“The GPS allows the G-Series to be quickly placed in rental and hire recce vehicles to help produce accurate pacenotes without hard wiring.”
The units are also equipped with the ability to disable the GPS and use traditional hard wired sensors only, offering superior installation flexibility. Additionally Monit Rally Computers include features such as, fuel gauge, auto-starting stopwatch, stage data recorder, performance timing, speed readout and more.
