The Australian Rally Commission is considering the introductions of additional freedoms for the Production Rally Car (PRC) category, to encourage greater participation by more modern cars.
ARCom has produced a discussion paper which outlines the proposed changes, so that competitors and the rally community may make comment and submissions on the issue.
"ARCom believes it is time to open up the PRC category to encourage more modern cars to be more competitive, and at a lower cost," Chairman of ARCom, Garry Connelly said.
"I also have to acknowledge the input of three Victorian state championship competitors, Matt Swan, Brian Semmens and Paul Eccles, whose very well prepared proposal provided the impetus for our consideration."
Comments on the discussion paper should be made to rally@cams.com.au by 30 October 2006.
