Motorsport Show cancelled in McRae’s honour

The Scottish Motorsport Show ’08 has been cancelled as a mark of respect for Scottish rallying legend Colin McRae.

Colin, along with his brother Alister and father Jimmy, had a huge hand in the success of the inaugural show at Lanark Agricultural Centre in February 2007, and the organisers decided it was not appropriate to go ahead with the 2008 event following the death of Colin in September.

Scottish Motorsport Show organiser Robbie Allan said, “It is with great regret we have to announce the cancellation of the Scottish Motorsport Show ’08. However, with the McRae family having played such a large part in the tremendous success of the 2007 show, we felt it would be better to cancel this year’s event as a mark of our respect. We are however looking at the possibility of organising a live motorsport event in Lanark during next summer to pay tribute to Colin’s outstanding career”
