Amongst all the cancellations, a brand new event has been added to the South Australian rally calendar for September this year. The MSS Safety has securing naming rights sponsorship for the Gorge RallySprint, first run as the Adelaide RallySprint in 2019. South Australia’s newest tarmac rally will be held on September 13th, providing it is safe to do so after the Coronavirus pandemic. The event will deliver direct economic benefit to a region hit hard by bush fires in recent months, with 75 competing cars and crews, along with service crew teams and spectators attending the local area. It takes in Tour, Spirit Tour, Challenge and Competition Categories, and is based at the Cudlee Creek Tavern and Caravan Park. From here cars set out on three loops of the course that takes in Anstey Hill and Gorge Road Stages run in both directions. The organisers, RallyOne, will work with MSS Safety to promote the South Australian company’s quality range of Nationally accredited high-risk safety training and the supply, service, calibration and inspection of safety equipment including safety harnesses, gas monitors and breathing apparatus. "MSS Safety is proud to be the naming rights sponsor of the 2020 MSS Safety Gorge RallySprint. We have called South Australia home since our inception and pride ourselves in supporting local events and initiatives," Daren Herring, Owner/Chief Executive for MSS Safety, said. "Our focus is on workers in high risk activities, such as working in confined spaces and in locations at risk of fall, getting the job done safely and effectively and getting home in one piece, values which correlate perfectly with the aims of this quality motorsport event.” Rally Director, Ivar Stanelis, said he was delighted that MSS Safety had agreed to team up with the event. “We’re thrilled to have a high-quality South Australian brand like MSS Safety supporting us and our volunteers. Rallying focusses on preparation, precision, action and durability, which underlines the MSS Safety brand’s unparalleled strength in the market. "This association is great for the sport in Australia generally, and us specifically, and I am confident it will be beneficial to both organisations."
