On Sunday the same aircrew will take the Squirrel to Nowa Nowa to ‘drop in’ on the service venue and will later join festivities at Kalimna Hotel as cars arrive back at the finish of the event.
The start of the Alpine Rally promises to be a huge event with local Independent state politician, Craig Ingram, East Gippsland Mayor Mendie Urie and local police commander Inspector Jill Wood, on hand to flag some of the huge 113 car field on their way.
The starting order has been finalised and local Gippsland promotion is in full swing. Spectators will be well catered for with eight exciting locations over the weekend. Spectator instructions will soon be available from the website www.alpinerally.org.au and a four page full colour liftout will feature in the East Gippsland News on November 21.
Sponsorship support for the Alpine has been fantastic and there will be over $5000 in cash and goods up for grabs across the whole event.
Accommodation is getting tight, but the East Gippsland Visitor Centre has places still available, no matter what your budget. To use this service simply call 1800 637 060 or visit www.lakesandwilderness.com.au
