BP Ultimate Racing will contest the newly formed East Coast Bullbars National 4WD series this year in a new Mitsubishi Evo 6.

It is the same car the team purchased to allow Australian Cricketer, Michael Clarke, to compete in at last year’s International Rally of Queensland.

BP Ultimate Racing is hopeful of getting Clarke behind the wheel again in 2013 and are working to find a slot in the self-confessed rally fan’s very busy diary.

Team owner and driver, Mike Bailey, discussed the season ahead for the team.

“Our plan is to run all the east coast rounds of the National 4WD series and we hope to run our two team cars at the World Rally Championship round in September.”

BP Ultimate also welcomes Matthew Harriott on board in the navigator’s seat.  He has had some great results in other disciplines of the sport and brings plenty of experience to the team.  Harriott commenced navigating in rally cars in 1997 on the local dirt roads throughout the Brindabella Mountains.

Matthew said” “I look forward to returning to Canberra once again for a rally.  Canberra has some of the best roads to compete on and although it has been a while, hopefully my local experience can be of assistance to the team.”

The team appreciates the ongoing support provided by BP Ultimate and Castrol Edge and welcomes onboard local business Hotel Realm for the opening round.

The car will be on display at Hotel Realm, 18 National Circuit, Barton on Friday afternoon prior to the official display and event start at Garema Place, Civic from 4.30pm.
