Luke Anear has announced a Mercedes AMG GTR will be his weapon of choice for his 2020 Targa campaign.
While gaining experience in Subarus on both tarmac and gravel, Anear has moved up to faster cars as his experience has grown.
He debuted his Ford Fiesta R5, the first of such car in the Australian Rally Championship in June, and the Mercedes purchase puts him right in the frame to be at the front end of the field at Targa.
"It (the Mercedes) arrived about a week ago and we’re just in the process of pulling the suspension out and seeing if we can get some Reigers made for it," Anear said on his Snickers Racing Instagram channel.
"The roof will come off so the roll cage can go in, and we’ve just got to make sure that everything fits inside."
The car, currently in silver, looks and sounds the goods, and shown in the below video.
