A New Zealand company has produced a new rally tripmeter that is now on the market, and which offers many of the features of the recognized brands, without the high expense.
The diminutive computer, which is just 115mm (wide) x 57mm (high), is called the TC100 and has a graphics display and a menu set-up similar to a mobile phone. As a result, it is very user friendly.
Like all tripmeters worth their salt, the TC100 has two distance counters, a stopwatch function, and provides the user with maximum and current speed readouts.
The TC100 has been designed to survive the demands of the rallying environment. It has been carefully designed to prevent vibration and shock related failures, and has an industrial grade dust sealed switch behind each button.
It uses an advanced LCD screen which is easy to read under all lighting conditions, while large icons and on-screen instructions make the unit very easy to use – something that can’t be said about some of the other brands on the market.
The TC100 is the only rally computer with on-screen instructions that guide you through each step of the calibration process. If you've ever tried to calibrate another rally computer before, this feature will be a life saver.
With plenty of features the Monit will be a real winner, and priced at around $650, it should soon make a real impact on the market.
