Entries have opened for the inaugural Snowy River Sprint, a multi-stage rally based out of Lakes Entrance, Victoria and run by Mountain Motorsports on May 26 and 27.
The event is the second round of the four-round AASA Australian Tarmac Rally Championship, and will include 295km of competitive kilometres, with minimal liaison distances between stages. The multi stage rally is designed to make it as easy as possible for the crews, in time, wear and tear on the car, and ultimately on the wallet.
To make logistics easier for competitors without service crew, and to save race tyres and fuel - particularly for crews on E85 - the or-ganisers will be allowing cars to be trailered from Rally HQ in Lakes Entrance to the daytime service park in Buchan. The rally stage start is but 1.5km from the service park!
In addition, refuel zones will be no further than 40km apart and will be easy to access.
The rally will be based out of the Central Hotel, and all official documentation and scrutiny processes will be located at this one location. Lakes Entrance has a vast array of accommodation to suit any budget.
In keeping with Mountain Motorsports' famous social atmosphere, a cocktail party followed by a live band at the Central Hotel will be held on the Saturday evening.
The price of the Snowy River Sprint is just $2650 for Modern competition cars $2200 for Classic cars, and a touring category for nonroll caged cars, which allows drivers to experience closed road access and the rally atmosphere, is available for just $600.
