GTi Motorsport have announced the signing of a new sponsorship agreement for their Perth based rally team.
The new sponsor is International Motorsport Solutions (IMS) who are the distributor in Australia for Shell Racing Solutions. IMS are responsible for the distribution of Shell Racing Fuels and Shell Helix Racing lubricants. IMS have reached an agreement which will see the GTi Motorsport team use the international specification Shell Racing Fuel - WR Rally Fuel.
The deal also involves GTi Motorsport managing the sales and distribution of Shell Racing Fuels in Western Australia.
The team at GTi Motorsport have years of experience in handling and managing the distribution of Racing Fuels through their major sponsor “Transtor”. Transtor is the Kinnear run family business and has been involved in storage and distribution of racing fuels for Australian and International Rally events for many years.
Now that Shell Racing Fuels are available in Australia, the partnership between IMS and GTi Motorsort in Western Australia is one that will bring benefits to the Western Australian racing community.
“We aim to let everyone know that Shell Racing Fuel is a world class product used by many international motorsport teams and now it is available here (through IMS). It will give competitors a real choice for high quality racing fuels. We can also offer other teams who use Shell Racing Fuels in Western Australia, the service of delivery to the race track,” says team manager Shane Kinnear. “We started spreading the message at the recent Experts Cup at Collie.”
The Team’s Mistubishi EVO 7 will be converted to use the World Rally-specification Shell Racing Fuel - WR, allowing the car to be tuned for greater power and allowing for a greater state of tune. “We have some hi-lift cams on order and a new exhaust to be installed and then we will get the car re-tuned on the Shell Racing Fuel. From the results that I have seen, we are hoping for some great results in horsepower and torque gains,” Kinnear said.
