One of NSW's longest running car clubs, North Shore Sporting Car Club, has a new home and is rebuilding its membership after a lean period over the last few years, with a new meeting venue and a revitalised committee.
Â
Headed up by recently elected president and prominent NSW rally identity Ric Cary, the NSSCC has moved from the Gordon Golf Club where it was based for more than two decades, to the West Ryde Hotel where meetings will be held on the first Monday of each month from 7pm.
Â
According to Ric Cary, NSSCC has one of the finest traditions in NSW rallying and has been responsible for organising major NSW rallies since the 1950s, and with a revitalised approach will continue to be a force in the State's rally scene for many years to come.
Â
"We have a lot of ideas and plenty of energy and enthusiasm to get things happening again, and the committee is confident the club has plenty to offer a wide cross section of motor sport enthusiasts across all disciplines," Ric said.
Â
"While NSSCC has been predominantly a rally based club for many years, there is a fine tradition of circuit racing, motokhanas, hillclimbs and other events and we have an open mind to new and interesting motor sport for the future," he added.
Â
Our meetings will be fun, fast and entertaining with lots of good chat, motor sport videos and the chance to grab a bite to eat in the hotel bistro and the chance to enjoy the great venue with other enthusiasts for a few hours each month," he said.
Â
"We hope that the change of venue to West Ryde will make the meetings easier to get to for more people and give the club a boost, and certainly that has already been born out by the lift in attendance at our meetings in the first couple of months. We would really encourage people who used to be members, or current members who haven't bothered to come to the meetings, to come along and enjoy being a part of one of the best car clubs in Sydney," Ric concluded.
