he NSW Excel Series has been turning to major sponsor RallySchool.com.au for rally action in recent times, as the next scheduled event, Blacksmiths Inn Rally was cancelled last weekend with rainy weather affecting the area around Taree.

The event was scheduled to take place on the 23rd of July, but had to be cancelled with the forests in the John's River and Taree area closed even to logging activity.

This has left NSW Excel competitors hanging for the next event, which will be the Myall Lakes Rally in the Bulahdelah region on 14 August. The Myall Lakes event will also be a round of the NSW State Rally Championship, and the Realistic Car Rentals NSW Clubman Series, which will put the Excels in a field mixing with the best rally competitors in the state.

Following the Bega Valley Rally event, the point scores haven't changed, with Fro Horobin and Andrew Crowley leading the series from the pairing of Ryan McShane and Daniel Geering, who will be keen to get to the front of the pack. Excel series stalwarts Andrei Artomonov and Gleb Bonch lie third in the series.

Sadly, it's unlikely we'll see the crew of Bob Slattery and Kate Murphy after their off-road excursions at Bega, with too much damage to repair to make it to the Myall Lakes event.
